The experience.
Our approach is rooted in understanding the lived experience of the people who stay with us. We regularly adjust and adapt our services to the express needs of our community.
There is no single entry point for asylum-related destitution and we recognise the diversity of experience that brings people to stay with us. We aim to provide structure and dignity in a system that often feels anything but.
What to expect if you’re staying with us…
"It was a very friendly, helpful environment. It was like a second home with the staff and guests becoming like another family to me”
'I liked everything about it starting from the accommodation to food, games and so much more, hard to describe what it has meant to me”
- Former Guests
What to expect from our teams…
“As a refugee who was once destitute, it means a lot to work with the guests. I understand the weight of the barriers they face and I'm proud to see them create a community and contribute to shaping the service. The men have a lot to offer the service, the city, and Scotland, and I hope to support them to do that.''
- Mahdi, Participation Manager
What to expect when your refer someone…
“Safe in Scotland is a lifeline for our clients who are either already or are facing street homelessness and in crisis situations. Knowing that there is a safe place that can provide dignified accommodation to our clients makes a world of difference to our clients and also our casework team. We have found their referral process straightforward and easy to access. The staff are really friendly, approachable, and helpful.”
